Have you heard of Hello? No, not Hello the standard English-language greeting. We’re talking about Hello, the brand of incredible, natural oral care and body products like deodorant and hand wash. We like their Natural Mint mouthwash (made with aloe vera and coconut oil). But we absolutely fell in love with their game-changing toothpaste. Listen up! Many traditional toothpastes contain a lot of not-so-great ingredients like fluoride, abrasives, artificial flavours and sweeteners, dyes, parabens, peroxide, sulfates, humectants, titanium dioxide, and detergents. Now, does any of that sound like stuff that should be going in your mouth? Enter Hello, a vegan and cruelty-free brand of toothpastes that actually work. We tried their Epic Whitening product made with (get this) activated charcoal, mint, and coconut oil. (We do believe that activated charcoal is to the 2020’s what baking soda was to the 2000’s.) This toothpaste is glossy and black. Yes, black! But does it ever work. When we tried it, we began to see a huge difference both in the removal of plaque buildup and in the whiteness of our teeth in just 3 days of brushing with an electric toothbrush. The taste is wonderfully minty, but not too overpowering, and the coconut oil gives the paste an interesting, well, oily texture. You’ll have to adapt to the colour of the product because frankly, if you don’t, you’ll make a horrible mess of your bathroom sink. But on the plus side, since bathroom sinks are commonly white, you’ll now see precisely what and where you’re spitting, making post-brushing cleanup a breeze.
